Typically, an ACA has more direct
contact with the animals than anyone else in the organisation, as they
carry out the very important aspects of animal care on a daily basis -
including cleaning, feeding, handling and exercise. Although this
position is sometimes viewed as "the bottom of the ladder", (and this
is reflected in the salary!), it is an extremely important and
rewarding position.
The animals in the care of an organisation, are highly
dependent upon the ACA; having a competent and caring person
in this role can make a very real difference to their physical, mental
and emotional well being. For more in depth advice about this
