This
is a unique course covering reptile biology, habitat, lifecycles and
behaviour. The subject matter also includes the general needs of
captive reptiles in terms of housing, diet and day-to-day care.
Students
will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the most
important reptile health issues, and describe appropriate veterinary
and first-aid procedures in response to common illnesses and injuries.
This course consists of six modules, each of which will include in-depth discussion of a different aspect of reptile care.
Short
activities will be set within each lesson to deepen
and refresh learning.
A
tutor will provide learning support throughout
the course via email and through an online discussion board.
A
final
tutor-assessed assignment will challenge learners to demonstrate the
scope of their knowledge and understanding of reptile care, welfare and
first-aid.
