IRELAND

Far Place Animal Rescue, Ireland exists to assist animals in need through rescue, care and re-homing. Contact to assist as a volunteer.

Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA) works to rescue and assist animals in need in Ireland. They require volunteers to assist in their work.

MALTA

SPCA Malta aims to promote kindness to animals and to prevent, in-so-far as it can, all cruelty to animals. It is interested in inspecting any legislation that affects, or is likely to affect, animal welfare interests and will promote or oppose the legislation accordingly. The Society also wishes to cooperate with organisations, international and local, whose objectives are similar to its own. Volunteer help required.

The Island Sanctuary, Malta has been in existence for over 20 years caring for abandoned and abused animals in Malta. Contact to assist as a volunteer.

PORTUGAL

The Association for the Protection of Animals in Algarve, Portugal exists to help animals in need in the Algarve region of Portugal. They require volunteers – contact to assist.

Lagos Animal Protection Society (LAPS), Portugal has been in existence for 24 years and works to rescue, care for and provide sanctuary for animals in need in Lagos. Volunteers required, contact to assist.

SPAIN

Whale Nation, Spain believes that the responsibility to defend nature belongs to each of us – as individuals. The organisation encourages individuals to make a difference though positive action within communities, the environment and nature. Contact to assist as a volunteer.

Protection of Abandoned Cats and Kittens (PACK), Spain a shelter in Spain run by an English couple, requiring volunteer assistance with the many animals in their care.

Feral Cat Trust, Spain operates to assist feral cats in the Costa Blanca area of Spain. Contact to assist as a volunteer.

The MONA Foundation is dedicated to the rescue of primates suffering in captivity. The organisation is working to end the abuse of primates in captivity, promoting the welfare and conservation of, and mailto:promoting respect and understanding of primates. They are looking for dedicated individuals for volunteer positions at their Sanctuary in the North of Spain.

FAADA - Foundation for the Adoption, Sponsorship and Defense of Animals, Spain is a non-profit animal welfare organisation in Spain. FAADA promotes and develops campaigns and activities aimed at raising awareness, educating and offering advice towards the protection of animals exposing the violation of their rights and enforcing the implementation of the laws that protect them. Nerja Donkey Sanctuary is always looking for volunteers, whatever your skills, age or nationality. They need people to help in the Sanctuary. Volunteers have undertaken over 5,000 rescues, which is one a day every day over the last 12 years. They have no paid staff or cash reserves and rely totally upon public support and sponsors. On a budget of under 5,000 Euros a month, they operate the sanctuary, animal hospice, a 24/7 free rescue service for the Guardia, police and the public, animal medical outreach project for local animals to stop them being abandoned, school visits, hospital support schemes, re homing and handicapped projects.

SEPE Spanish Society for the Protection of Equines This horse and donkey sanctuary based near Malaga, Spain always needs volunteer helpers. Small studio apartment for 2 available. Close to small village, golf course, shop, bars, restaurants, swimming pool etc. The object of the SEPE is to assist with the advancement of equine knowledge and care. Put pressure on the courts to acknowledge the cruelty laws that are already in existence within Spain. Also where necessary, pursue for cruelty laws for equines to be amended or statutes.
