Lanta Animal Welfare Lanta Animal Welfare works to reduce the overpopulation of strays by sterilisation, provide first aid to ill and injured animals (pets or strays) as there is no vet on the island and educate inhabitants on animal care and what can be done to solve the problem of overpopulation. Volunteers would be involved in daily basis tasks (feeding, walking, cleaning, socialising,...), fundraising, education, admin, building relationship with the local communities,... We are currently building a bigger kennel and a small vet clinic/recovery center and hope to get a permanent vet on the island.

Earthwatch Institute Europe aims to promote sustainable conservation of our natural resources and cultural heritage by creating partnerships between scientists, educators and the general public. To realise this mission, Earthwatch Institute has three recognised areas of focus: Research, Education and Conservation. Their European office is in Oxford with a 4.5 million turnover and jobs advertised regularly.

MEDASSET - The Mediterranean Association to Save the Sea Turtles is an international non-governmental organisation founded in 1988, working for the conservation of sea turtles and their habitats throughout the Mediterranean. It has been involved in conservation and scientific research programmes, public awareness, environmental education and lobbying decision-makers.

Nature Watch aims to promote the prevention of cruelty to animals and to conduct and support the publication of information about animal welfare. They condemn all illegal activity, and believe that an evolutionary approach is better than a revolutionary one. Their main campaigns are on animal experiments (in particular those which cause brain damage to primates), badger baiting, and live transport across Europe. Their charitable wing, the Naturewatch Foundation, is involved in pioneering work in Eastern Europe, particularly in Lithuania and Ukraine.

Ireland

Ulster Wildlife Trust are passionate about the vital role local people have to play in securing a healthy future for our environment. Without a biodiverse environment, with healthy ecosystems and a wide range of species and habitats, we are all under threat – people and wildlife. Ulster Wildlife Trust believe in taking local nature conservation action to secure the survival of life, acting locally, thinking globally.

Austria

Four Paws Austria has a vision of a world without animal suffering. The organisation aims to help mistreated animals and to achieve long-term, legally binding improvements for farm animals, laboratory and companion animals and wildlife.

Netherlands

AAP, Netherlands is a European sanctuary for exotic animals, it is based in Almere in the Netherlands. The animals that end up with AAP often come from illegal trade, research laboratories, circuses, illegal zoos or directly from private people. The foundation specialises in hosting apes and monkeys. Other small exotic mammals can also find a shelter there, including raccoons, skunks and prairie dogs.

Romania

APAM Animal Protection Association from Minis, Arad is a non-profit organization which deals with providing shelter to foster abandoned animals. In our shelter right now are almost 100 rescue animals: dogs and cats and our purpose is to save as many animals as possible, to control their breeding through sterilization and castration, to built more shelters where abandoned animals could have a home where to be cared for and loved till we find them families wishing to adopt an animal….but we have a problem, not so much people hear about us, we need more publicity, please help us by spread the world
