Mid Sussex Happy Breed Dog Rescue aims to protect dogs from ill-usage, cruelty and suffering and, in particular:- to provide kennelling and subsequent new homes for the dogs who have been lost or maltreated or are unwanted or abandoned, to provide veterinary treatment for dogs in the care of the Society and to educate the public to a sense of moral responsibility towards dogs and to encourage kindness towards them. Volunteer help required.

the Mare & Foal Sanctuary, Devon was established in 1988 and has rescued hundreds of horses throughout the UK and successfully re-homed them in safe, knowledgeable and loving homes. They are asking for voluntary help in their stables; with the mucking out, grooming and general welfare of the horses.

The Margaret Green Foundation Trust (MGFT) specialises in animal care for all types of animals: cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, and even Doris a pot-bellied pig! With so many animals in need of care, their three sanctuaries are always busy, finding loving homes for our animal friends, welcoming new animals and looking after the permanent residents in their care. Volunteers are essential to their work.

The Marine Connection works for the welfare and conservation of all cetaceans and aims to secure a safer future for dolphins, whales and porpoises through education, campaigning and research, the Marine Connection raises awareness and minimises threats in order to make a positive difference to the current and long term protection of cetaceans worldwide. They need voluntary assistance with fundraising and with field research.

Monkey Sanctuary believes that monkeys richly deserve the chance to live worthy lives free from fear and stress in as natural surroundings as possible after spending all their lives confined in cages for entertainment and research. Volunteer assistance required.

Mossburn Animal Centre, Scotland was originally set up in 1987 to provide help for misused, abused, unwanted and neglected horses and ponies as well as for young people with physical and mental problems. This original remit was later widened, and they now care for all domestic animals and rehabilitate wildlife. They depend on voluntary assistance.

The Moggery, Bristol aims to provide an all round solution for local cat problems. Their work includes: finding a new home for the loved pet of an elderly local resident entering a nursing home, trapping and neutering a feral colony, caring for a family of sick / abandoned kittens, re-homing an unwanted litter of kittens and providing assisted neutering. Voluntary assistance required.

Mill House Animal Sanctuary has facilities located around Sheffield, South Yorkshire - with native ponies and horses kept at locations in Fulwood, Thurlstone, Worksop and around the Mayfield and Rivelin Valleys. The Sanctuary is committed to providing a caring and loving environment for all animals, with over 280 horses & ponies who are in need due to old age, sickness, maltreatment, or neglect, they also provide care for cats, dogs, pigs, sheep, cows and goats, and any other animals in need. National Seal Sanctuary based in Cornwall, are a rescue, rehabilitation, and release centre for seals. Last season they rescued over 40 pups – contact to assist as a volunteer or for information about internships.

Orangutan Foundation UK exists to undertake conservation and promote the understanding of the wild orangutan's natural habitat and tropical rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra and works to promote the long-term study of wild orangutan behaviour, evolution, ecology and biology. Voluntary assistance required in their London office.
