to find the right job, what is important for an interview, etc.
Whether you are a school leaver, unemployed or a professional
disillusioned with your job and seeking a rewarding career change, we
can help you take the important steps to realising your ambition.
Our team of animal care professionals have years of relevant experience
and have developed a unique package to help you to succeed and turn
your compassion for animals into a rewarding career working with
animals. We are sure this package will greatly increase your chances of
success in finding the right career path in animal welfare for you.
PART 1 Choosing a Career
The first part of this package enables you to
have a consultation with our expert careers adviser.
When deciding on a career with animals, there
are many different options to consider; many are well known animal
career choices and others you may not have heard of or considered.
Career opportunities with animals vary
from dog trainer to zoologist, vet to wildlife photographer, marine
biologist to pet sitter and many more.
We will give you details of just about
about every ethical career opportunity working with animals. (We don't
promote career opportunities that involve commercial breeding or
animal exploitation).
PART 2 Training advice
We will give you valuable training advice and
links to training organisations and institutes.
In response to the many enquiries we receive
about home study courses we compiled a variety
of high quality online courses ranging from level 1 to level 5.
PART 3 Finding Work
Experience
Volunteering is a great way to obtain hands on
experience and a better understanding of the many different career
options open to those wishing to work with animals.
Whether you are a school leaver, seeking a
career change, or are undecided about whether working within the animal
welfare sector is for you, then voluntary work is a great way to find
out.
At the same time as giving you the tremendous
satisfaction of helping
animals in need, your volunteer work can also be an excellent career
move as well as providing you with a reference.
The experience will
enable you to gain experience in the specific type of animal care that
you aspire to work in.
PART 4 Preparing a CV
A well written CV is essential to impress
employers, particularly if you are changing your career path.
Animal Jobs Direct has teamed up with one of
the UK’s leading professional CV writing services who will discuss your
CV with you and provide you with an interview winning CV to help you
take the first steps towards a career working with animals.
PART 5 Finding a Job
If you want to work with animals, you'll find
that there are many different options and a huge array of job
opportunities.
You may want to work directly with animals:
e.g. as a vet, dog warden, RSPCA Inspector, animal care assistant,
ranger, animal behaviourist, etc. Or, you may want to work with animals
in a less hands-on way, in an office based environment in management,
administrative, fundraising or personnel positions.
We will provide you with links to organisations
that have current job vacancies. How to go about finding your job with
animals will be covered during your one-to-one phone call with our
employment expert.
PART 6 Preparing for the
Interview
As part of this package you will also receive
an interview ebook covering absolutely everything from researching a
potential employer to formulating answers to tough interview questions.
