The British Horse Society (BHS) runs an Approvals Scheme that assists riders and horse owners in selecting an establishment which will suit their needs. All BHS Approved Establishments are inspected at least once a year and establishments only pass if they have met the most stringent standards of instruction, safety and horse care. University of Lancashire, Equine Studies BA Hons Management in Equine Leisure offers a fast track BA (Hons) opportunity for HND or FD holders to study for an honours degree in one year. The course provides a management focused equine leisure programme designed to develop awareness of and ability in corporate management. Six modules in total are studied allowing for analysis of management issues underpinning equine leisure. Options are selected from the wide variety of modules offered across the Department. An ethos of self development and reflection also runs through the curriculum in order to develop greater personal awareness and confidence in managing others.
