for Abused Animals in a Wildlife Sanctuary and Game Park (TWS202)
Hands-on
work with injured or abandoned animals of all types. This is a very
popular project! The sanctuary is home to many different wild and
domestic animal species and about 150 bird species. Most of the animals
were taken in because they had been badly injured, abused or orphaned,
and some are 'unwanted pets'. You’ll assist in hand-rearing, feeding

An Elephant Orphanage Experience
at Pinnawala (TWS263)
This famous
Orphanage provides care and shelter for around 80 elephants that are
too old to work or have been found abandoned. This is a close up
elephant experience rather than a conservation project in the largest
centre of its kind with one of the most successful captive breeding
programmes. Your work will be to assist the mahouts in the day-to-day
running of the orphanage, including cleaning and sometimes washing of
the baby elephants in the river. This excellent experience is very

conservation project, back to basics in rural Sri Lanka. Help conserve
