CASA Avian Support Alliance

Tropical Avian Caretaker/Rehabilitation Specialist - Avian Clinic Manager (ACM)

The CASA Avian Support Alliance (casaavian.org) is a small non-profit organization that is operated in Belize, Central America.  The main goal of the organization is wildlife rehabilitation, but it also includes programs for habitat reforestation (occurring on site) and environmental education (the main source of injured and orphan birds is sling-shot injuries and pet captures).  The organization is very small and funding is sparse, yet the need for help, as you might guess, is great.  Any assistance toward posting this job announcement would be greatly appreciated.

The CASA ACM will live at the Casa del Caballo Blanco Eco-lodge (www.casacaballoblanco.com) in San Ignacio, Belize, Central America. Daily duties will include? intake, feeding, cleaning, food preparation, general care, of avian patients (generally 2 to 20 birds), and working with veterinarians who will conduct major medical procedures. Additional duties will often include collecting food (fruits, insects, etc.) from a 20-acre protected reforestation area on site, completion of patient records, logging dietary intake, and providing input to an avian diet menu book/care manual.
