Animal Keeper Large
Carnivores
Port Lympne Wild Animal
Park is seeking an experienced, hardworking and dedicated keeper to
work with a small team of enthusiastic and likeminded keepers. We have
one of the leading collections of large carnivores in the UK including
snow leopards, tigers, lions, cheetah, wild dogs, wolves and hyenas.
The position will also include some reptile work.
This is a very physical role and the successful
applicant will be expected to undertake all duties on the section from
cutting up/prepping meat, and cleaning, to enclosure building and
maintenance. Conservation education plays a big role in the park so
there will be plenty of opportunities for doing talks and displays to
the public.
You must have previous animal keeping experience
gained in a zoo park or equivalent environment and a full valid driving
licence. We are looking for an individual who is hardworking,
passionate and committed with knowledge of current conservation issues
and experience in presenting talks to the public.
Although not essential for the role; previous
experience working with large carnivores; reptile experience; a firearm
licence: experience gained in off road driving and an animal management
qualification or equivalent would be advantageous.
Working hours are: 40 hours a week worked five days
out of seven.
