Conservation and Environment in India: Our Conservation Project in India offers volunteers the opportunity to work alongside local people, promoting organic agriculture, learning about traditional medicinal plants, and teaching environmental awareness to the community. This pioneering project includes our Model Farm which promotes many environmentally-friendly farming practices Projects Abroad volunteers are totally responsible for the running and maintenance of the Model Farm and villagers from the surrounding area visit the farm to learn about the different techniques and technologies that can benefit them. Conservation in Cambodia and Thailand: Projects Abroad offer Marine Conservation projects in both Cambodia and Thailand. Volunteers help protect coral, mangroves and marine life which is fast becoming destroyed due to increasing tourism and through a lack of sustainable fishing techniques. Volunteers will be trained to Advanced scuba divers before participating in work as varied as species monitoring; seahorse, coral bleaching, fish reef surveys and reef fish surveys, beach clear ups and giving environmental awareness workshops to the community. Veterinary Medicine in Mongolia: In Mongolia, Projects Abroad run a Veterinary project where volunteers work at a pet hospital in Ulaanbaatar which mainly treats domestic animals, but you may have the opportunity to visit Nomadic families and help with their livestock. If your passion is horses, you can choose to stay in a rural area and work with a horseman and his family. Thai Animal Rescue Foundation The Foundation takes it's name from two dogs - Noi & Star rescued from the island of Koh Tao, Thailand. On this island there is no RSPCA, no PDSA, no animal's shelters, no sanctuaries, no medical care of any kind for the animal population. Ravaged by mange, hungry and often abused, many of them don't survive. With your help we can change this. Volunteers required. Animal Asia Foundation (AAF) is a Hong Kong-based government-registered animal welfare charity, it also has charitable status in UK, USA, Germany, China and Australia. The AAF is devoted to the needs of wild, domesticated and endangered species throughout the Asian continent. The mission of the AAF is to improve the lives of all animals in Asia, end cruelty and restore respect for animals Asia-wide. They currently have job vacancies at their Bear Rescue Centre in China. The Welfare of Stray Dogs (WSD) India is a Mumbai-based organisation working to eradicate rabies and control the street dog population in a humane, scientific way. Since 1989 they have been carrying out a mass sterilisation programme for stray dogs, volunteers are crucial to their worthwhile work. Care for Dogs, Thailand works to reduce the overpopulation of street- and temple dogs. This is achieved through education, neutering, rescuing and offering medical assistance. Assistance required by volunteers. The Okinawan-American Animal Rescue Society, Japan works to rescue, care for, neuter and re-home animals. Voluntary help required. Beijing Human and Animal Environmental Education Center (BHAEEC) aims to alert and educate the public about animal protection, to nurse and find homes for wounded and homeless animals and to spread knowledge about animals. BHAEEC could not survive without the help of dedicated, committed volunteers - fill out their online application form to apply to volunteer.
