The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) is dedicated to the conservation of Scotland’s whales, dolphins, and porpoises and the Hebridean marine environment through education, research and working with Hebridean communities. Volunteers required.

Holly Hedge Sanctuary, Bristol works to assist companion animals in need in a variety of ways. Volunteers required to assist their work.

Horse and Pony Protection Association (HAPPA) is one of the oldest and most respected equine welfare charities. Founded in 1937 to help fight against the transportation of large horses to the continent for slaughter, HAPPA continues to play a major role in all aspects of equine welfare. Volunteer assistance required.

Hyndburn Stray Dogs in Need this organisation assists stray dogs in need through rescue, care and re-homing. Voluntary assistance requested.

The Home for Unwanted and Lost Animals (HULA) operates from a 17 acre site which provides sanctuary for dogs, cats, rabbits, and other domestic animals until new homes can be found. They also have a number of resident animals including Goats, Pigs, Sheep, Cows, Ponies, and a Donkey who are permanently retired. Volunteers required to assist with fundraising.

Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary is located in Oxfordshire. The organisation is a registered charity which cares for and protects abused and ill-treated donkeys and other animals. Volunteer assistance required.

The Jersey Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA) was founded in 1868 with the intention of attempting to change public attitudes towards animals. Their mission is to prevent cruelty, promote knowledge, and, provide for aged, sick, lost and unwanted animals. To assist, complete the online volunteer application form on their website.

Lancashire Cat Rescue aims to rescue and re-home stray, injured, sick or unwanted cats and kittens. This organisation cares for about 25 cats at a time and concentrates on quality of care rather than quantity of animals. They require voluntary assistance with fundraising.

Llysnini RSPCA the branch is an independent charity based in Swansea, South Wales. It is a self-financing organisation committed to providing animal welfare services in its area. The Branch is affiliated to the national RSPCA, but receives no automatic funding from it. Volunteer help required.

9 Lives Cats exists to help elderly cats in need of care. Contact to assist as a volunteer. Leicester Animal Aid (LAA) is an animal charity that provides unwanted and homeless dogs and cats with immediate shelter, sanctuary, food and health care and the opportunity for permanent and safe re-homing with responsible and loving pet owners. Labrador Lifeline Trust operates in Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire, Middlesex and Lincolnshire. The organisation keeps in contact with the dog for the remainder of its life and will not supply dogs for working purposes, as the majority are already well-loved family pets and would not adapt to living outside. Contact to assist as a volunteer.

The Mammal Society works to protect British mammals, halt the decline of threatened species, and advise on all issues affecting British Mammals. They study mammals, identify the problems they face and promote conservation and other policies based on sound science. The Mammal Society relies on volunteers to take part in mammal recording and survey work. It is only with voluntary help that they can continue. Contact to assist this project in your area.
