New! Two Day Intensive Hands on Dog Trainer Course
Seeking a Career as a Dog Trainer, Handler or Behaviourist? Steve Mann,
Member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers and full time
Professional Dog Trainer, is offering a Two Day Course for those of you
interested in pursuing the world of Dog Training further. The Academy
of Dog Training and Behaviour believes there are many methods of
training dogs but will only support those using kind methods. The
course covers a variety of modules including: what makes a dog tick,
setting up a behavioural training class and puppy training instructors
classes.
Canine Behaviour Centre offers
a training course consisting of ten units that cover a variety of
subjects including: dog psychology, dog social skills, neurotic
disorders, behavioural problems and aggression.
Think Dog
Course is
offered by COAPE and provides an excellent basis for further study, eg.
the Think Dog Advanced Correspondence Course (C5) or the COAPE Diploma
Course (CD). The course will not make 'instant experts' but its
successful completion will mean that the more subtle aspects of dog
psychology can be discussed constructively and will enable you to look
at what dogs do in a different light. The knowledge gained can greatly
enhance the pleasure that you can get from a canine/human relationship
and help others to do the same.

If you are you finding it difficult to get the right job working with
dogs or if you have no or little previous animal care experience, then
it is worth considering volunteering whilst you are studying. This will
increase your chances of employment considerably as you will gain
valuable, practical animal care work experience and you may even be
offered a job or training opportunity at the place you are volunteering
for. Click here for
useful information about voluntary work in animal charities and a
comprehensive list of animal welfare organisations that run voluntary
work programmes and are currently looking for volunteers.
